Jessaca Leinaweaver

Professor of Anthropology, Brown University

Jessaca Leinaweaver is Professor of Anthropology and the Director of the Center of Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Brown University. She also holds affiliations with Brown’s Population Studies and Training Center and Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs. She is the author of The Circulation of Children: Adoption, Kinship, and Morality in Andean Peru (Duke, 2008), which won the Margaret Mead Award. Her most recent book is Adoptive Migration: Raising Latinos in Spain (Duke, 2013). Leinaweaver is the recipient of multiple research grants from the National Science Foundation, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Fulbright IIE, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, and the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship.
